Facilities for your Enjoyment and Entertainment
Drumkilbo is a listed historic building. The house itself is mid 19th century with a 13th century stone spiral staircase at its core. With a large dining room, three reception rooms and a billiard room, it is a wonderful house for entertaining.

The house is available on a self-catered basis for your wedding, celebration or corporate event.

We are happy to suggest local service providers for your catering, all of whom are renowned for their imaginative use of the delicacies of Scotland's larder, allowing our guests to dine in five-star style at affordable prices.

Coupar Angus Burgh Pipe Band
The recently formed Coupar Angus Burgh Pipe Band made its first public appearance at the Drumkilbo Garden Open Day in June 2001. By special arrangement, we can organise Beating the Retreat at the end of the day or a single piper to rouse your guests at dawn.

First Bicycle in Scotland
The drive of Drumkilbo House may have been the scene of the first bicycle ever to be ridden in Scotland, as George Kinloch recorded in a letter dated 17th June 1819. ' The Drummie has been practising upon a velocipede lately but not with great success.'

History records that the first two wheeled device in the nature of a bicycle called ' The Dandy Horse ' was introduced into England by Baron von Drais in 1818 and, as David Nairne's velocipede was probably brought back from Paris after his trip abroad with George Kinloch in the summer of 1818, it may well have been the first bicycle in Scotland.

David Nairne of Drumkilbo was a young spark and, when rather more merry than usual, he was referred to as ' Kildrumbo ' or ' Drummie '.
